This week on Queering Desi, we welcome Sonam Kapoor, the Bollywood actress who starred in "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga" earlier this year!

On this episode, The two chat about why LGBTQ activism is so close to Sonam's heart, what it was like to shoot the film and its box office and critical reception. Later, Priya asks Sonam about various topics affecting Bollywood, including the #MeToo movement and the gender pay gap. Finally, Sonam talks about her latest film, Zoya Factor, which is now available on Netflix.

It's striking that Sonam Kapoor frames allyship as personally close to her heart rather than just a career move, especially given how rare openly supportive Bollywood figures were in 2019. I wonder whether starring in a film about a lesbian romance changed how she navigates the industry's expectations, or whether the box office reception made studios more cautious. Does visible allyship from a major star actually shift audience attitudes, or does it mostly reassure people who already agree?

Nice resource for anyone creating a new account. The name generator saved me from spending half an hour thinking of a username.

Tried eggy car after seeing it mentioned in another gaming forum. It loads quickly and is easy to understand, but getting a high score takes real practice.
